date

Our organic ice cream contains no refined industrial sugar! Instead we use the mild sweetness of dates and fruits. The date is the fruit of the real date palm (Phoenix dactylifera), which grows up to 20 meters high. Most of the dates for Europe are grown in Tunisia - we also get our dates from Tunisia.

When the dates are fresh, they contain a high proportion of water and therefore do not keep for long. On the other hand, if you let them hang on the palm tree until they are a little drier, you can then store them for a very long time. The fructose concentration as well as the concentration of minerals and vitamins increase. The sweetness of the date comes half from glucose and half from fructose, which makes it very easy to digest. Dates are very rich in vitamins and minerals.
